Why camp at Silverstone Woodlands?
We are siutated only 150m away from Silverstone Circuit, offer hot showers and flushing toilets, put on first class entertainment and a have great selection of food and drink on-site! Need we say more?
I am using public transport, how do I get there?
Silverstone is a rural location, we suggest planning your trip in advance.
Trains - The closest train stations are Milton Keynes Central and Northampton train station.
Bus - There will be buses running from nearby train stations and services running with Megabus and National Express. Please visit their website to book or for more info.
Taxi - Taxis are available at all train stations. The taxi drop off points are at gate A or gate C, depending on what camping zone you have booked into. Follow the yellow event signage when approaching Silverstone Circuit.
How far is it to the circuit from the campsite?
We are the closest campsite to Silverstone Circuit, with our north gate about 250m from the circuit and our east gate even closer, so you're never far. The campsite is large so we offer a complimentary shuttle service around the site during F1, MotoGP and the Silverstone Classic.
Do you have accessible camping?
Yes we do have accessible camping. When booking your tickets, you need to book disabled camping. We may contact you for proof after placing your booking. Make sure you have your blue badge with you when you arrive at the campsite*; we’ll only give space to blue badge holders in our Disabled Camping zone. Our Disabled Camping zone is close to the circuit and has toilets and showers with ramp access. We operate a no-nonsense blue badge holder policy to make camping that little bit easier for those who really need it.
*Please note: As part of the terms and conditions under which disabled tickets are sold you must have a Blue Badge, if you are not a Blue Badge holder or you do not bring yours as proof, you will not be able to camp in the Disabled Camping zone.
Is there a reduced price for children?
Yes there is, please refer to our event specific pages for prices.
For other events, please check your event specific page for camping prices.
Please note, all children must be accompanied by an adult whilst staying at the campsite.
I have bought tickets, how many days can I camp for?
For F1, your weekend camping tickets entitle you to camp with us from 10am on Wednesday to 12pm on Monday.
For MotoGP, your weekend camping tickets entitle you to camp with us from 8am Thursday to 12pm Monday.
For all other events, please check individual event opening times before arrival.
I have purchased Family camping tickets, does this mean I can only use the family facilities?
Not at all! You are free to use both the Family and Lively facilities, the Family camping ticket only defines where your pitch will be. Make sure you explore the whole site, as we've got loads going on in both areas over the weekend!
Can I see the evening entertainment if I'm not camping with you?
No. The only way to see the evening entertainment is to camp with us – we don’t let anyone else on-site. We put entertainment on for our guests only - why should we let other people enjoy the same facilities? Believe it or not, every year we refuse entry to hundreds of people asking to come and enjoy our evening entertainment just because their friends, who were camping with us, said it was so good!
How big is my pitch?
Tents - We do not specify a pitch size for tent camping, we just ask that you take only the space you need. As a guideline, pitches are usually the length of your car by approximately 6 metres. Additional pitches are available for larger groups at the discretion of the campsite stewards.
Standard pitch = 7 x 8 metres
Large pitch = 6 x 12 metres
What's a live-in vehicle pass?
A live-in vehicle pitch pass is an additional ticket that you'll need if you're coming to camp in a live-in vehicle. The live-in vehicle pitch pass entitles you to a 7x8m pitch in our live-in vehicle camping area. A live-in vehicle is any vehicle which you will be living in.
Please note trailer tents and vans which you will be sleeping in are classed as live-in vehicles.
I'm bringing my van, is it classed as a live-in vehicle?
If you are bringing a van which you plan to sleep in, then yes, it is a live-in vehicle. However, if it is just to bring camping equipment and you'll be staying in a tent, then you can stay in general tent camping.
I want to bring my live-in vehicle but you've sold out of pitch passes, what happens now?
If we've sold out of pitch passes, this means we only have tent camping available. Unfortunately you will not be able to bring your live-in vehicle.
I would like to hire a caravan for the weekend, what do I need to do?
Our recommended supplier is Tilshead Caravans, who will pitch your caravan ready for your arrival! You can read more about their services here. All you need to do is purchase your camping tickets including the live in pitch with electric hook up and book the caravan, we'll do the rest!
I want to book an electric hook-up but it says you are sold out, what happens now?
We have a limited number of electric hook ups available, so early booking is essential to secure a hook up. If you have missed out, don't worry, we have the Big Locker Hire Co onsite who can charge your phones and gadgets. You can pre-book a locker by following this link.
Am I allowed to bring a generator with me?
No, we operate a no generators policy at Woodlands and security will be patrolling site to enforce this rule. If you need to use power we have electric hook-ups available to purchase or you can use our onsite charging facilities provided by The Big Locker Hire Co. You can pre-book a locker by following this link.
I have a generator built into my live-in vehicle, can I use it?
You’re welcome to bring your live-in vehicle, but you can’t use the built in generator. We operate a strict no generators policy.
Is your campsite secure?
We try our best to keep our site secure. We have a team of SIA approved security guards patrolling our campsite, and at our entrance gates 24/7, as well as all our other campsite staff. However, our campsite has a population similar to a small town for big events so theft can happen - we recommend keeping your valuables safe at all times, either by locking them in your car, or keeping them on your person. We also have The Big Locker Hire Co on-site, where you can lock up your valuables for the weekend. You can pre-book a locker by following this link.
What is Glamping?
It’s a service where you can turn up to a pre-erected luxury tent. It’s like camping, only easier and much more comfortable and glamorous! There are a couple of options, depending on what event you are attending. For more information, visit Hotel Bell Tent’s website here.
I'm Glamping at Woodlands, do I need standard camping tickets?
Yes, Glamping is an upgrade from standard camping, so you will still need a camping ticket. When you book your camping ticket, please book family camping tickets. This will ensure you enter the site via the correct entrance.
Are all of your toilets permanent and flushing?
Almost. We have over 160 permanent flushing toilets on-site during large events, but we occasionally use posh porta-loos when we’re really full or in the far reaches of our site.
Do you have water and chemical disposal points on-site?
We have numerous chemical disposal and water points on-site. Refer to the map in your info guide for locations of waste disposal points.
Please note: you will need to bring your own tap fitting with you.
Will shower tokens be in place?
At some of our larger events, if queuing for a shower becomes a problem, or takes too much time, we may operate a shower token system. More information will be given on-site but, basically, you’ll need to collect a shower token from just outside the shower blocks and pop it into the token machine near the shower to get hot water. Shower tokens are free and running in this way ensures everyone gets the same time in the shower.
Can I bring my motorbike on-site?
We aim to have cars & bikes parked next to pitches. In the event of bad weather, or for different reasons, you may have to park your vehicle away from your pitch. If this is the case we will try and make the distance between your vehicle and your pitch as close as possible (within reason). Please keep an eye on our facebook page and website for updated information.
Can I bring my car on-site?
Generally, yes. We aim to have cars parked next to pitches. In the event of bad weather, or for different reasons, you may have to park your car away from your pitch. If this is the case we will try and make the distance between your car and your pitch as close as possible (within reason). Please keep an eye on our facebook page and website for updated information.
Do I need a car pass to park my car on-site?
Yes, car passes can be purchased on our website and start at £15 each. You can add an extra pass to your booking at any time, subject to availability. Alternatively, you can purchase an additional car pass on arrival. Please note we only accept cash on the gate.
Can I leave the campsite when I want?
For the safety of everyone on-site, vehicle movements are restricted, except in the case of an emergency. If you need to move your vehicle in an emergency you must contact the nearest steward, who will arrange for you to be escorted out of the camping area.
Can I bring my own booze on-site?
Yes, but we don’t allow glass on-site and you may have any glass bottles removed on entry. Vehicles may be subject to searches by security on arrival.
Why can't I bring glass bottles?
For the rest of the year, our campsite is home to flocks of sheep. If glass gets smashed and is left on the floor it can cause serious damage to the animals, as such we ask that you stick to bringing plastic with you instead.
I’m coming to a small event – what facilities can I expect?
Hot showers & flushing toilets, the Petrol Head Pub. Depending on the size of the event we may or may not have entertainment and food available on-site. Check out our event specific pages for more information on what we'll have at the event you're attending.
Can I camp next to our friends who are coming separately?
We fill the campsite systematically so you can’t choose where you camp. You can however bring your friends tent with you and set it up next to yours for them. The only way to guarantee that you are pitched next to your friends is if you arrive together.
